Plans & access
What a free account sees, what the full data adds for client work, and how to turn it on.
Free preview
Every account can use every tool, up to a daily limit (below). The lookups are free in full: finding hospitals and metro areas, a hospital's payer list, code search, volume estimates and Medicare rates.
The price searches answer with a preview:
- at most 8 rows, however large a
limityou ask for, - the hospital's published gross charge and cash price, without the negotiated rates, CMS estimates or payer counts.
That is enough to see whether we have your client's market before you pay for anything. A preview answer has locked: true and a note, so your assistant can tell you what it left out.
Full data
The full data is what goes into a client deliverable: every row up to your limit, with the negotiated rates. Access can cover:
- everything, or
- chosen metro areas, or
- chosen hospitals.
So a practice that works one region can buy that region. If you ask about somewhere your plan doesn't cover, you get the preview for that search, not an error. With a metro or hospital plan, a search on a whole state is narrowed to the hospitals you have access to in that state, up to 25, and the note says so. Pass hospital_ids to choose which.
Insurers' published rates (the payer rate tools) are a separate add-on to the hospital price data.
Daily limit
Every tool call counts, free lookups too: 10 calls a day on the free plan, 500 a day with any paid access. The day resets at midnight UTC. A preview answer on the free plan says how many calls are left today (calls_left_today). Past the limit the call fails with a message that gives the reset time and, on the free plan, the upgrade link.
When you hit a limit
A preview that held back rows carries a subscribe object: a link, a link to book a call, and one sentence saying what is locked. Your assistant should show you that sentence. The link opens the upgrade page with what you asked for at the top, for example insurers' published rates in Florida. A search that found nothing carries no upgrade link.
Upgrading
Go to chat.cognitolabs.ai/upgrade, or book a call. We turn access on for your account on that call. Nothing changes in your client: your next search returns the full data.
